Native American Drum & Australian Didgeridoo - 2011

Martin Klabunde and Wing Man Rita Law play original music on indigenous instruments from around the world. Their instrumentation includes the adungus (bow harps from Uganda), the akogos (thumb pianos from Uganda), the djembes and the dununs (drums from Guinea and Mali), the Australian didgeridoo, the Native American drum, and Tibetan singing bowls. Inspired by a variety of indigenous cultures as well as their own personal experience, their concerts weave together soothing rhythms and storytelling to transport the audience into a tranquil and relaxing space where inner transformations take place.

Being a participant in Martin and Wing Man's performance means you will never be in the passive. From the very beginning, you are invited to turn the experience into a meditation and a prayer by infusing the music with freedom, joy, love, and peace. Towards the end of the performance, participants meditate to the simultaneously earthy and ethereal sounds of the Australian didgeridoo and the Native American drum. The inspirational evening ends with a community drumming celebration where participants experience the power of music in an active sense.
