West African drumming (djembe and dunduns), Adungu, Akogo, and Didgeridoo Classes

Martin is one of a handful of Certified Professors of the Djembe at Mamady Keita's Tam Tam Mandengue International School of Djembe. After his extensive travels to East and West Africa, he also became an excellent player of the adungu (bow harp from Uganda) and the akogos (thumb piano from Uganda). He was the first author of instructional books on West African drumming in the US and he published an instructional book for learning the adungu in 2010.

The Australian didgeridoo was another of Martin's favorite instruments. He utilizes his rhythmic sensibilities from his training in drumming and plays the didgeridoo from an inner presence. He has published two CD's that combine the didgeridoo and Native American drumming with the intention to facilitate a deep meditative awareness.

With over 20 years of teaching and workshop facilitation experience, Martin offers West African drumming classes, adungu classes, akogo classes, and didgeridoo classes with a fun and interactive style that helps the student get the most out of learning these instruments.
